MUSCO - Music Corpora of Slovenia Online

About the Project

The digitisation of a part of the corpora was carried out within the project Music of Youth after 1945 and Musical Youth of Slovenia (J6-3135), co-financed by the Public Agency for Research and Innovation Activities. The platform is maintained and further developed by the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, and the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, in collaboration with external partners. It is currently co-financed by the Public Agency for Research and Innovation Activities within the project Identifications of Slovenian Music after 1991.

Corpus Description

The collection of folk narrative songs contains transcribed material collected by Slovenian ethnologists, folklorists, ethnomusicologists, and various collaborators of the Institute of Ethnomusicology at ZRC SAZU from 1819 to 1995. The collection includes 402 folk songs. The complete corpus with visualized musical notation and annotations is accessible on the Dezrann platform.

Corpus Description

The collection contains 123 notated songs from Ciciban magazines published between 1945 and 1991. These are primarily songs intended for younger children and first-grade students.

Corpus Description

The corpus contains digitized audio recordings of children's and youth songs that were originally released on various audio cassettes and gramophone records. They are physically and digitally stored in the National and University Library (NUK).
